Most of it happens at our end. Your bit is answering some questions on your phone and picking a few photos out of your camera roll.
You answer some questions
Mostly tapping. Twenty-odd questions across seven short sections, and you can skip any of the ones you don’t fancy. Save it and come back whenever — it holds your place.
You attach photos as you go
Each question has its own add-photos button. Straight from your camera roll. We sort out which page each one belongs on, so you never have to label anything.
We build your issue
Your answers and pictures get laid out into a full magazine issue — cover, spreads, quotes, the lot. You pick the look and the soundtrack yourself.
You read it before anyone else does
We send it back to you first. Change the words, move the pictures, pull anything you’d rather not have in there. It only goes live once you’re happy with it.
Nothing that gets you in trouble.
No plant counts. No room sizes we could work backwards from. No location, no legal name, no address. We credit you by your Instagram handle, or not at all if you’d rather stay anonymous.
Photos with people in them, screenshots, anything with your details showing — we bin those before we start laying out. You’ll never see them in your issue.
The bits people usually ask
How long does it take me?
Ten or fifteen minutes if you go straight through. Most people do it in two or three sittings on the couch — it saves as you go, and we’ll email you a link back into it.
Do I have to answer everything?
No. Only your handle is compulsory. Everything else is a suggestion — answer the ones you’ve got something to say about and leave the rest. A short honest answer beats a long polite one every time.
What sort of photos do you want?
Whatever’s on your phone. Whole plants, the room, the bench, harvest shots, you in amongst it, the dog. Originals rather than screenshots if you can — bigger files print bigger. Twenty to forty is plenty.
Do I have to be running Bloom?
You need at least one of ours in the tank for it to make sense, but we’re not after a sales pitch. If something didn’t work, say so — that’s the part other growers actually trust.
Can I pull out?
Any time before it goes live, and after too. Email us and it comes down.
What does it cost?
Nothing. We do these because they’re good reading and because growers learn more off each other than off us.
