Dip’N Grow and Bloom
Dip’N Grow does one job: the few seconds at the cut. Bloom picks up from there, with a weekly feed from rooted cutting to the flush.

Three seconds at the cut, then the rest of the crop.
Dip’N Grow is a liquid rooting concentrate. You dilute it by wood type, dip the base of the cutting for 3 to 5 seconds and stick it. That’s where its job ends. Everything after rooting, from the first weekly feed through to the flush, is where Bloom’s range sits.
- Stays as is: the Dip’N Grow dip at sticking, diluted 1:5, 1:10 or 1:20 by wood type.
- Both have one: a cutting dip. Bloom Roots also works as a dip, so test them side by side if you like.
- Not on their list: base feed, kelp, fish, humic, cal-mag, stage additives and foliars.

Dip’N Grow is used once, as a 3 to 5 second dip at sticking, per its label and instructions. Everything after the Root column is outside its job. Bloom’s bars follow its weekly feed charts; pale Bloom bars are as-needed bottles.
Why each one fits
What the Bloom product does, the research behind that kind of input, and where it sits in a program that already runs.
Roots, once they’re rooted
What it does. Roots is amino acids, B vitamins and fulvic acid. It runs at 1 ml/L as a cutting dip, or 0.5 ml/L weekly from cuttings and veg through flower, stopping in the final 1–2 weeks.
A recent review covers amino acids and protein hydrolysates as biostimulants, with links to nutrient uptake. It’s general plant science and doesn’t test Roots.
How it stacks. Dip’N Grow at sticking, then Roots in the weekly feed once cuttings go in. They’re used at different moments, so they run in sequence (our read).
Kelp and tuna from the first feed
What it does. Seaweed is southern bull kelp at 1 ml/L weekly, seedling through the flush. Seafuel is tuna and kelp at 1 ml/L weekly, clone through late flower, tapering at the flush.
Reviews of seaweed extracts report effects on growth and stress tolerance across many crops. None of it tests these bottles or Dip’N Grow.
How it stacks. These go into the feed water, not the dip. Dip’N Grow’s FAQ says diluted dip is used within 10–12 hours and never returned to the bottle, so keep the two well apart.
Humic acid and trace minerals
What it does. Humate is 10% humic acid at 2.5 ml/L weekly, seedling through flush. Sea Minerals is trace minerals from sea water at 0.13 ml/L weekly, veg to bloom.
A major review links humic substances to changes in root structure and function tied to nutrient uptake, including more lateral roots. It doesn’t test either company’s products.
How it stacks. Small weekly doses in the feed once plants are rooted and growing (our read).
A base and a bottle per stage
What it does. Euro A+B is a two-part base at 1–2 ml/L each part across the cycle. Pre, Ultra and Final are 1 ml/L weekly: mid veg, the flip, and the last two weeks. These are timing tools, so there’s no study cited for them here.
How it stacks. Dip’N Grow has no feed, so there’s nothing to work around. The base and stage additives follow Bloom’s weekly feed chart.
Where the programs complement each other
Their dip, then Bloom’s weekly chart
Dip’N Grow stops at the cut. Bloom’s base, tonics and stage additives cover every week from rooted cutting to the flush, so the two sit in sequence.
Roots in the first feeds
Roots at 0.5 ml/L weekly picks up once cuttings are in, carrying amino acids, B vitamins and fulvic acid into the feed (our read: a natural next step after the dip).
Dip against dip
Bloom Roots also works as a 1 ml/L cutting dip. A same-batch test shows growers how each behaves at the cut.
Their line, Bloom’s fit at a glance
Matched on job. Dip’N Grow is a one-time dip at sticking; Bloom’s rates are per litre on a weekly feed chart. Tap a tag to filter.
Their dip stays at sticking. Bloom’s products don’t carry IBA or NAA.
Both get used at the cut. Roots is amino acids, B vitamins and fulvic acid, and carries on in the weekly feed.
Root support in the feed once cuttings are in, stopping in the final 1–2 weeks.
A two-part base for veg and bloom.
Southern bull kelp, and a tuna and kelp tonic, through the cycle.
10% humic acid, plus trace minerals from sea water.
Calcium and magnesium for soil, coco and hydro, and potassium silicate added first.
One additive for mid veg, one for the flip, one for the last two weeks.
Phat in flower weeks 3 and 4, Ooze from week 5 to the flush, PK as needed.
Foliar sprays for veg and the flip, applied every few days as needed.
Put it side by side
Where both ranges have a product for the same job, the fair answer is a test in your own room. Here’s what to watch and how to keep it fair.
Keeping it fair
- Same plants. Clones off the same mother, same cultivar, same age.
- Same room. Same light, climate, media, pot size and watering.
- Same base. Keep the base feed and EC the same on both sides.
- One change. Change only the product being tested, and write down what you see each week.
Already covered
- The cut. A liquid rooting concentrate diluted by wood type.
- How to use it. Label, instructions, FAQs, SDS and a parts-per-million sheet.
- Sizes. 2 oz kit, 16 oz and 1 gallon.
Stays exactly as is
- Dip’N Grow at sticking. Bloom’s products don’t carry IBA or NAA.
- The dilution by wood type. Follow their label for the cut.
- Your propagation setup. Bloom’s range starts once cuttings are in the feed.
Background, science and sources
Who Dip’N Grow are
Dip’N Grow, Inc. is in Clackamas, Oregon, per its label and SDS. The site says nursery and university propagators use it, and the label carries EPA Reg. No. 64388-1.
The product is a liquid concentrate of IBA (1.0%) and NAA (0.5%) in alcohol. The label mixes it 1:5 for hardwood, 1:10 for medium hardwood and 1:20 for softwood and succulent cuttings, with a 3 to 5 second dip. It’s sold as a 2 oz kit, 16 oz and 1 gallon, online and through retailers and distributors.

What each company brings
Dip’N Grow: A long-running, EPA-registered liquid rooting concentrate for cuttings, diluted by wood type, with a full label, instructions, SDS and FAQs for propagators.
Bloom: one additive for each stage of the crop, seaweed, humic and sea mineral inputs, foliar sprays, and weekly feed charts for soil, coco and hydro. Rates and timing are on every product page.
Cropping Solutions, the other brand under Agricultural Organics, isn’t part of this report.
Dose basis: how each side counts
Dip’N Grow is mixed by ratio for a one-off dip: 1 part to 5, 10 or 20 parts water by wood type, used within 10–12 hours. Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly feed chart, so the two don’t compare on rate.
Bloom Roots as a cutting dip is 1 ml/L. That’s a different product with different actives, so the numbers aren’t like for like.
Mix calculator
Rates as printed on each company’s page (1 US gallon is 3.785 L). Bloom’s rates are per litre of nutrient solution, dosed weekly per its feed charts. Pick a product and your tank size.
