Hygrozyme and Bloom
Hygrozyme is mostly root-zone work: enzymes, bacillus, a line cleaner and chitosan. They also have a two-part base and an oil spray. Here’s where Bloom sits next to each.

This Fit Report is a summary of publicly available information about Hygrozyme and its products, taken from their own website, labels and published material as of 5 November 2026. We’ve linked each source so you can check it yourself. Rates are as printed on each company’s own pages; we don’t show prices. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by Hygrozyme, and product names belong to their owners. Products, rates and claims change, so please confirm current details with the manufacturer before making any decision. Spotted something out of date? Their root zone kit, Bloom’s feed on top.
Hygrozyme’s range is an enzyme formula, a five-strain bacillus inoculant, a salt and line cleaner, a chitosan product, an essential oil spray and Nutrient A & B. Bloom has no enzyme, microbial or cleaner product, so most of their line has no counterpart here. The two-part base and the pest spray are where we both have one.
- Stays as is: Hygrozyme, Hygroben, Hyclean and Hyshield.
- Both have one: a two-part base and an OMRI listed pest spray.
- Not on their list: kelp, fish, humic, sea minerals, silica, stage additives and foliar feeds.
Their line, Bloom’s fit at a glance
Matched on job, not NPK. Hygrozyme prints ml per litre and per gallon, used with every watering; Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly feed chart. Tap a tag to filter.
Breaks down dead root matter. Bloom’s bottles run in the same water.
A root inoculant. Nothing in Bloom’s range does this job.
Keeps drip lines and media clear. Bloom has no cleaner, so it stays.
Their plant protection input. Bloom has no chitosan product.
Both are two-part liquid bases. Run one, then stack the additives over it.
Both are OMRI listed pest sprays. Follow each label, and don’t mix them without a jar test.
Southern bull kelp, and a tuna and kelp tonic, through the cycle.
10% humic acid, plus trace minerals from sea water.
One bottle for each part of the grow, mid veg to the flush.
Amino acids and fulvic for roots, carbohydrates and potassium, and calcium and magnesium.
Potassium silicate, veg through early flower.
Foliar sprays for veg and the flip, outside the feed line.
Where the programs complement each other
Their enzymes and bacillus, Bloom’s tonics
Bloom has no enzyme, microbial or cleaner product. Hygrozyme, Hygroben and Hyclean keep their slots, and Seaweed, Seafuel, Humate and Sea Minerals go into the same water weekly.
Stage bottles in the same weeks
Hygrozyme’s range has no veg, flip or finish additives. Pre, Ultra, Phat, Ooze and Final run by week over whichever base the grower uses.
Two places we both have one
Nutrient A & B and Euro A+B are both two-part bases, and Hygropunch and OrganiShield are both OMRI listed sprays. A grower runs one of each, or tests them side by side (our read).
Why each one fits
What the Bloom product does, the research behind that kind of input, and where it sits in a program that already runs.
Kelp and tuna next to the enzymes
What it does. Seaweed is southern bull kelp; Seafuel is tuna and kelp. Both run at 1 ml/L weekly: Seaweed from seedling through the flush, Seafuel from clone through late flower.
Reviews of seaweed extracts report effects on growth and stress tolerance across many crops. Work on protein hydrolysates, which fish inputs belong to, is newer and links them to nutrient uptake. None of it tests these bottles or cannabis.
Ali et al. (2021), Plants (review) · Malécange et al. (2023), Int J Mol Sci (review)
How it stacks. Hygrozyme’s pages say it works with all nutrient and supplement programs. Hygrozyme goes in with every watering; Bloom’s tonics go in weekly, in the same water.
Humic acid and trace minerals
What it does. Humate is 10% humic acid at 2.5 ml/L weekly, seedling through flush. Sea Minerals is trace minerals from sea water at 0.13 ml/L weekly, veg to bloom.
A major review links humic substances to changes in root structure and function tied to nutrient uptake, including more lateral roots. It doesn’t test either company’s products.
How it stacks. Hygrozyme and Hygroben work on the root zone itself; Humate and Sea Minerals go into the feed. Hygroben’s page says it’s best used within 24 hours of mixing, so mix it fresh. Our read: add Bloom’s bottles to that same fresh batch.
Stage bottles over Nutrient A & B
What it does. Pre in mid veg, Ultra at the flip, Phat in weeks 3 and 4, Ooze from week 5 right through the flush, and Final for the last two weeks alongside Ooze. These are timing tools, so there’s no study cited for them here.
How it stacks. Nutrient A & B already steps up by week on Hygrozyme’s chart. The stage bottles go into those same weeks; check EC as you add them (our read).
Silica, added first
What it does. Silica is potassium silicate, labelled 0-0-4, at 0.33 ml/L weekly from veg through early flower, tapering in late bloom. It goes into the water first.
How it stacks. Silica first, then the base, then everything else. Hyshield’s page asks for a jar test and pH around 5.8, a fair habit with any new mix (our read).
Put it side by side
Where both ranges have a product for the same job, the fair answer is a test in your own room. Here’s what to watch and how to keep it fair.
Keeping it fair
- Same plants. Clones off the same mother, same cultivar, same age.
- Same room. Same light, climate, media, pot size and watering.
- Same base. Keep the base feed and EC the same on both sides.
- One change. Change only the product being tested, and write down what you see each week.

Timing comes from Hygrozyme’s feed calculator page and the Nutrient A & B and Hygropunch sheets. Hygroben stops 2 weeks before harvest and Hyshield 1 week before, and not in the flush. Hyclean runs up to the final flush and can be a flushing agent, so the flush is pale. Hygropunch is pale as a 7–10 day spray, up to flower week 2. Bloom’s bars follow its weekly feed charts; pale Bloom bars are as-needed bottles.
Already covered
- Enzymes. Hygrozyme and the 5x Concentrate, with every watering.
- Microbes. Hygroben, five bacillus species.
- Cleaning. Hyclean for salts and lines, during and between crops.
- Protection. Hyshield chitosan and the Hygropunch oil spray.
- Base feed. Nutrient A & B on a weekly chart.
Stays exactly as is
- Hygrozyme and Hygroben. Bloom has no enzyme or microbial product.
- Hyclean and Hyshield. No Bloom product does either job.
- Nutrient A & B and Hygropunch. If they’re working in your room, keep them, or test Bloom’s next to them.
Background, science and sources
Who Hygrozyme are
Hygrozyme calls its flagship “the world’s premier horticultural enzymatic formula” and carries the line “We Grow Responsibly since 1974.” Its site lists an address in Delta, BC, Canada, and talks about in-house manufacturing. The pages we read don’t name a parent company.
The range is Hygrozyme and Hygrozyme Concentrate (enzymes), Hygroben (bacillus inoculant), Hyclean (salt and line cleaner), Hyshield (chitosan), Hygropunch (an OMRI listed oil spray their page says isn’t sold in Canada) and Nutrient A & B. They publish a feed calculator, technical sheets and injection layouts, and sell online, through retail stores and through wholesale distributors.

What each company brings
Hygrozyme: An enzyme formula in two strengths, a bacillus inoculant, a salt and line cleaner, a chitosan input, an OMRI listed oil spray, a two-part base, and a feed calculator with injection layouts.
Bloom: one additive for each stage of the crop, seaweed, humic and sea mineral inputs, foliar sprays, and weekly feed charts for soil, coco and hydro. Rates and timing are on every product page.
Cropping Solutions, the other brand under Agricultural Organics, isn’t part of this report.
Dose basis: how each side counts
Hygrozyme prints ml per litre with gallon figures alongside: Hygrozyme 2–2.5 mL/L, the Concentrate 0.4–0.5 mL/L, Hygroben 1–2 mL/L, Hyshield 1–2 mL/L, Hyclean 0.26 mL/L while growing. Hygrozyme is used with every watering or as your schedule sets; Hygroben is given as a weekly rate.
Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly feed chart. Nutrient A & B is 1.5–3.2 mL/L each part by week; Bloom’s Euro A+B is 1–2 ml/L each part. The analyses differ, so the same volume isn’t the same feed.
Mix calculator
Rates as printed on each company’s page (1 US gallon is 3.785 L). Bloom’s rates are per litre of nutrient solution, dosed weekly per its feed charts. Pick a product and your tank size.
