They spray the leaf, Bloom feeds the root zone.
Spray-N-Grow’s core is a three-part foliar kit: micronutrients, Bill’s Perfect Fertilizer and Coco-Wet, sprayed every 1 to 3 weeks on everything from tomatoes to houseplants. There’s no two-part base or stage program on their list. Bloom’s bottles go in the feed water by week, so the spray and the feed can run in the same garden.
- Stays as is: Coco-Wet, Soil Optimizer, the fungicides, sprayers and lawn, weed and animal lines.
- Both have one: foliar feed, calcium, seaweed in the mix and an organic pest spray.
- Not on their list: a two-part base, stage additives, humic and silica in the feed water.
Where the programs complement each other
Their spray kit, Bloom’s base in the water
Spray-N-Grow’s list has no two-part base or stage additives. Grow and Flower A+B, plus Pre to Final, sit in the feed while the Perfect Blend Kit keeps going on the leaf.
Root zone inputs they don’t carry
Humate, Silica and Sea Minerals go in the weekly water at 0.13–2.5 ml/L. Spray-N-Grow’s site sells coco blocks, so coco growers are already in the picture (our read).
Two sprays, tested fairly
Their micronutrient spray and Groigen or Florigen are all leaf feeds. A split-bed test on separate days would show what suits the garden.
Why each one fits
What the Bloom product does, the research behind that kind of input, and where it sits in a program that already runs.
A base under the spray
What it does. Grow A+B for veg and Flower A+B once lights go to 12/12, 1–2 ml/L each part. They run in soil, coco and hydro.
How it stacks. Spray-N-Grow’s kit is sprayed on the leaf and says to pour leftovers on the soil. A two-part base in the water does the root zone job, and the spray stays on its 1–3 week rhythm (our read).
Humic and silica in the water
What it does. Humate is 10% humic acid at 2.5 ml/L weekly, seedling through flush. Silica is potassium silicate, labelled 0-0-4, at 0.33 ml/L weekly, added first, veg to early flower.
A major review links humic substances to root growth and nutrient uptake. A Frontiers review links silicon to plants coping with stress. Neither tests these bottles.
Canellas et al. (2015), Scientia Horticulturae (review) · Luyckx et al. (2017), Frontiers in Plant Science
How it stacks. Bill’s lists humus among its ingredients but no humic percentage. Humate adds a stated 10% humic acid in the feed (our read: start with one, then add).
Two kinds of foliar
What it does. Groigen for seedling through veg, Florigen for the stretch to early bloom, stopping once buds set. Both at 20 ml/L, lights off, every few days as needed.
A mini review on foliar feeding says leaf uptake works but varies, and how nutrients cross the leaf isn’t fully understood.
How it stacks. Spray-N-Grow’s page has its spray running up to harvest day. Our read: if you run both, keep them on separate days and jar test any mix with Coco-Wet first.
Roots at the cut and after
What it does. Roots runs at 1 ml/L as a cutting dip, or 0.5 ml/L weekly from cuttings and veg through flower, stopping in the final 1–2 weeks.
How it stacks. Spray-N-Grow’s seed-starting gear (heat mats, starter soil) sits fine alongside a rooting liquid in the water (our read).
Their line, Bloom’s fit at a glance
Matched on job, not NPK. Spray-N-Grow prints teaspoons and ounces per quart or gallon, mostly as sprays; Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly chart. Tap a tag to filter.
Both are leaf sprays. Theirs runs year-round on all plants; Bloom’s are split veg and flip.
Both bring fish and kelp. Bill’s is a whole feed in one jug; Bloom’s are tonics on top of a base.
Both bring calcium. Foli-Cal is sprayed on the leaf; Cal-Mag goes in the feed with magnesium, iron and zinc.
All three are pest sprays. Read each label for crop and timing before choosing.
Bloom has no wetting agent. Keep it in the spray tank.
A spread-and-water soil product. Bloom’s liquids go in the water instead.
Bloom doesn’t make fungicides, so these stay.
Outside Bloom’s range altogether.
A base for containers, coco or hydro, under their foliar program.
One bottle for each stage, mid veg to the flush.
10% humic acid, potassium silicate and trace minerals from sea water, all at the root zone.
Amino acids, B vitamins and fulvic acid, at the cutting and in the weekly feed.
Put it side by side
Where both ranges have a product for the same job, the fair answer is a test in your own room. Here’s what to watch and how to keep it fair.
Keeping it fair
- Same plants. Clones off the same mother, same cultivar, same age.
- Same room. Same light, climate, media, pot size and watering.
- Same base. Keep the base feed and EC the same on both sides.
- One change. Change only the product being tested, and write down what you see each week.
Where each bottle sits in the cycle
Spray-N-Grow’s timing in grey, Bloom’s in yellow, across shared stages of the grow.

Spray-N-Grow’s pages don’t set crop stages. Micronutrients run every 1–3 weeks year-round and Bill’s every 1–2 weeks, both usable up to harvest day, so they’re pale across the cycle. Foli-Cal is every 2 weeks; its stage placement is our read. Pest sprays are as needed, hatched. Bloom’s bars follow its weekly feed charts; pale Bloom bars are as-needed bottles.

Background, science and sources
Who Spray-N-Grow are
Spray-N-Grow LLC sells garden products direct online under the line “Be the envy of every gardener”. Their lawn page credits founder Bill Muskopf with Bill’s Perfect Fertilizer, and their hydroponics site has sections for growers, retailers and commercial growers. The pages we read don’t state an address or a parent company.
The core is the Perfect Blend Kit: Spray-N-Grow Micronutrients, Bill’s Perfect Fertilizer 6-11-5 and Coco-Wet, mixed and sprayed every 1–3 weeks. Around it sit Foli-Cal (10% calcium), Soil Optimizer (OMRI Listed per its page), fungicides, neem and pyrethrin sprays, lawn food, weed control, animal repellents, sprayers and seed-starting gear.

What each company brings
Spray-N-Grow: A ready-made foliar kit for home gardens, a calcium spray, organic pest and disease sprays, a granular soil product, and the sprayers and seed-starting gear to go with them.
Bloom: one additive for each stage of the crop, seaweed, humic and sea mineral inputs, foliar sprays, and weekly feed charts for soil, coco and hydro. Rates and timing are on every product page.
Cropping Solutions, the other brand under Agricultural Organics, isn’t part of this report.
Dose basis: how each side counts
Spray-N-Grow prints rates per quart and gallon of water, mostly for sprays: Micronutrients 2 tsp per quart (about 10 ml/L), Bill’s 1–2 Tbsp per gallon (about 3.9–7.8 ml/L), Foli-Cal 1.5 oz per gallon (about 11.7 ml/L), Coco-Wet ½ tsp per gallon (about 0.65 ml/L). Bloom prints ml per litre of nutrient solution on a weekly chart.
Their sprays run every 1–3 weeks on the leaf; Bloom’s root-zone rates are weekly in the water. Same number, different job, so compare on the labels.

Rates as printed on each company’s page (1 US gallon is 3.785 L). Bloom’s rates are per litre of nutrient solution, dosed weekly per its feed charts. Pick a product and your tank size.
Seaweed and fish inputsWell supported
Ali and colleagues (2021) review seaweed extracts and report effects on growth and stress tolerance across many crops. Malécange and colleagues (2023) review protein hydrolysates, the family fish inputs belong to, and link them to nutrient uptake, mostly under stress.
Why it matters here: Bill’s lists hydrolyzed fish and seaweed, and Bloom’s Seafuel and Seaweed are fish and kelp. Neither review tests these products.
