Where Bloom fits · the biggest difference

A deep catalogue of salts, and a program to run on top.

Grow More’s US range is mostly the building blocks: water-soluble NPK powders, crop-specific hydroponic formulas, nitrate and chelated micronutrients, adjuvants and water treatments, plus a humic, a seaweed and a silicon product. What’s not on their list is a stage-by-stage additive program. That’s the weekly Bloom chart, going into the same tank as their base.

  • Stays as is: the water-soluble and hydroponic bases, chelates, nitrates, adjuvants and water treatments.
  • Both have one: seaweed, humic acid, calcium, silicon, a PK powder and a rooting input.
  • Not on their list: stage additives, fish, a carbohydrate input and veg and flip foliars.

Pre, Ultra, Phat, Ooze and Final, Seafuel, SWTNR, and the Groigen and Florigen foliars.

Where we fit together

Where the programs complement each other

High · the base stays

Their salts, Bloom’s weekly program

Grow More’s US list is base powders, hydroponic formulas and correction products. Pre to Final, Seafuel and SWTNR go into the same tank by week without changing that base.

Medium · greenhouse and hydro

Same tank, different jobs

Their crop-specific hydro formulas are built for lettuce, tomatoes and the like. Bloom’s bottles work in recirculating or run-to-waste systems, so a hydro grower can keep the formula and add the stage bottles (our read).

Medium · kelp, humic, calcium, silicon

Overlaps worth a fair test

Seaweed Extract, Humic Acid, Foliar Cal and Silo-Tec each sit near a Bloom bottle. Pick one per job, or split the room with the base held the same.

Where the programs overlap

Their line, Bloom’s fit at a glance

Matched on job, not NPK. Grow More’s labels mostly print rates per acre or per gallon; Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly chart. Tap a tag to filter.

Grow More’s labels are written for field crops, turf and greenhouses, not crop weeks, so every bar here is our read. Myco-Grow and Grow Roots go in at cuttings and transplant. Seaweed Extract runs every 3–4 weeks as a spray (every 2–3 weeks for vegetables) and Humic Acid 3–4 times a season, so both are pale. PK powder timing is our read. Bloom’s bars follow its weekly feed charts; pale Bloom bars are as-needed bottles.

Where a job isn’t on Grow More’s list

Why each one fits

What the Bloom product does, the research behind that kind of input, and where it sits in a program that already runs.

Not on their list · by stage

A weekly program on their base

What it does. Pre in mid veg, Ultra at the flip, Phat for flower weeks 3 and 4, Ooze from week 5 through the final flush, and Final for the last two weeks alongside Ooze. These are timing tools, so there’s no study cited for them here.

How it stacks. A grower running 20-20-20 or a hydroponic formula keeps that as the base. These go in on top, by week, without changing the base recipe (our read: check runoff EC when you add anything).

Pre · Ultra · Phat · Ooze · Final

Not on their list · fish and carbs

Seafuel and SWTNR in the tank

What it does. Seafuel is tuna and kelp at 1 ml/L weekly, clone through late flower, tapering at the flush. SWTNR is carbohydrates and potassium at 1 ml/L weekly, veg week 2 to the flush.

The science Emerging

Fish inputs sit in the protein hydrolysate family. A 2023 review links that family to nutrient uptake, mostly under stress, and flags plenty still unknown. It doesn’t test Seafuel.

Malécange et al. (2023), Int J Mol Sci (review)

How it stacks. Grow More’s Fuego and Bio-Cozyme pages say not available in the US market, so there’s no US-listed equivalent on their side. These add to a mineral base (our read).

Seafuel · SWTNR

Both have one · kelp and humic

Two kelps, two humics

What it does. Seaweed is southern bull kelp at 1 ml/L weekly, seedling through flush. Humate is 10% humic acid at 2.5 ml/L weekly, seedling through flush.

The science Well supported

Reviews link seaweed extracts to growth and stress tolerance across many crops, and humic substances to root growth and nutrient uptake. Neither tests these products.

Ali et al. (2021), Plants (review) · Canellas et al. (2015), Scientia Horticulturae (review)

How it stacks. Grow More’s Seaweed Extract label gives a hydro rate at reservoir changes and a 3–4 week foliar rhythm. Our read: run one kelp in the tank and keep any spray on its own day.

Seaweed · Humate

Not on their list · leaf sprays

Foliar feeds for veg and the flip

What it does. Groigen for seedling through veg, Florigen for the stretch to early bloom, stopping once buds set. Both at 20 ml/L, lights off, every few days as needed.

The science Emerging

A mini review says leaf uptake of nutrients works but varies, and how nutrients cross the leaf surface isn’t fully understood.

Fernández and Brown (2013), Frontiers in Plant Science

How it stacks. Grow More sells spreaders like EZ Wet SA for spray tanks. Our read: jar test any mix before spraying, as their own labels advise for new combinations.

Groigen · Florigen

Where both ranges have one

Put it side by side

Where both ranges have a product for the same job, the fair answer is a test in your own room. Here’s what to watch and how to keep it fair.

Seaweed Extract (Grow More)andSeaweed
What to watch: New growth and root colour, one kelp per side, base held the same.
Humic AcidandHumate
What to watch: Runoff EC and pH, and root spread at transplant out.
Foliar Cal · Mag-NiteandCal-Mag
What to watch: Tip burn and new-growth colour; adjust the base nitrogen if adding nitrates.
Silo-TecandSilica
What to watch: Runoff pH and leaf stiffness; silicon goes in first.

Keeping it fair

  1. Same plants. Clones off the same mother, same cultivar, same age.
  2. Same room. Same light, climate, media, pot size and watering.
  3. Same base. Keep the base feed and EC the same on both sides.
  4. One change. Change only the product being tested, and write down what you see each week.

Already covered

  • Base feed. Water-soluble NPK powders and crop-specific hydroponic formulas.
  • Micronutrient correction. EDTA and EDDHA chelates, Citra Grow, and metal nitrates.
  • Spray and water tools. Adjuvants, surfactants, acidifiers and line cleaners.
  • Specialty. Humic Acid, Seaweed Extract, Silo-Tec, Myco-Grow and rooting products.

Stays exactly as is

  • Their base powders and hydro formulas. Bloom’s additives go in around them.
  • Chelates and nitrates. Single-element correction stays with Grow More.
  • Adjuvants and water treatments. Bloom doesn’t make these.
  • Myco-Grow. Bloom has no microbial inoculant.
More detail

Background, science and sources

Who Grow More are

Grow More, Inc. sells fertilizers and specialty inputs for markets worldwide. Their homepage gives “applied research” as their motto since 1918. The pages we read don’t state an address or a parent company.

The range covers water-soluble NPK powders, Nutra Zorb liquids, crop-specific hydroponic formulas, chelated and nitrate micronutrients, adjuvants, water treatments, soil health and organic inputs, and a hobby line in small packs. Several bio-stimulant and biological products are marked not available in the USA market on their pages, so they’re left off this report.

What each company brings

Grow More: A wide catalogue of water-soluble and hydroponic base powders, single-element micronutrients, adjuvants and water treatments, with humic, seaweed, silicon and mycorrhizal products, for farms, turf, greenhouses and hobby growers.

Bloom: one additive for each stage of the crop, seaweed, humic and sea mineral inputs, foliar sprays, and weekly feed charts for soil, coco and hydro. Rates and timing are on every product page.

Cropping Solutions, the other brand under Agricultural Organics, isn’t part of this report.

Dose basis: how each side counts

Grow More’s labels mostly print field rates per acre or per 1,000 sq ft. Where they give per-gallon rates: Seaweed Extract is 1 tsp per gallon for hydroponics at reservoir changes (about 1.3 ml/L) and 1 oz per gallon as a foliar spray (about 7.8 ml/L), every 3–4 weeks. Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly chart.

Their powders are dosed by weight and their liquids on season-long schedules, so a per-litre number on each side isn’t the same weekly amount.

Mix calculator

Rates as printed on each company’s page (1 US gallon is 3.785 L). Bloom’s rates are per litre of nutrient solution, dosed weekly per its feed charts. Pick a product and your tank size.

Silicon and plant stressWell supported

Luyckx and colleagues (2017) pull together work showing silicon helps plants handle stress, from salt and drought to pests and disease.

Why it matters here: Silo-Tec and Bloom’s Silica both bring silicon. The paper is general plant science and doesn’t compare products.

Luyckx et al. (2017), Frontiers in Plant Science

Potassium in the plantWell supported

Hasanuzzaman and colleagues (2018) review potassium’s roles in plants, from enzyme activation and stomatal control to tolerance of drought, salt and heat.

Why it matters here: their 0-50-30 and 0-37-37 and Bloom’s PK are all PK products. The review doesn’t compare products or timing.
