Advanced Nutrients and Bloom
Advanced Nutrients on the left, Bloom on the right, matched on the job each bottle does. Their range is big and already split by bloom week, so most of this is about timing.

Adding to pH Perfect? One bottle at a time.
Their pH Perfect page says once another maker’s products go in, they can’t guarantee root zone pH. So if a grower adds a Bloom bottle, the sensible way is one at a time, logging runoff pH for a week before the next. Start with what isn’t on their list: Roots, Pre, Seafuel and Sea Minerals.
- Stays as is: the pH Perfect base, Voodoo Juice, Sensizym and Flawless Finish.
- Both have one: a flip booster, mid and late bloom boosters, carbs, silica, kelp-humic and cal-mag.
- Not on their list: a cutting dip, a mid-veg step, a fish input and sea minerals (our read of their US product list).
Advanced Nutrients and Bloom in short
The pH Perfect base, Voodoo Juice, Sensizym and Flawless Finish stay as they run.
Bud Ignitor, Big Bud, Hammerhead, Overdrive, Bud Candy, RSA, B-52 and Sensi Cal Mag Xtra line up with Bloom bottles.
Roots, Pre, Seafuel and Sea Minerals, added one bottle at a time.
Put it side by side
Where both ranges have a product for the same job, the fair answer is a test in your own room. Here’s what to watch and how to keep it fair.
Keeping it fair
- Same plants. Clones off the same mother, same cultivar, same age.
- Same room. Same light, climate, media, pot size and watering.
- Same base. Keep the base feed and EC the same on both sides.
- One change. Change only the product being tested, and write down what you see each week.
Their line, Bloom’s fit at a glance
Matched on job, not NPK. Advanced Nutrients prints most additives at 2 mL/L on a week-by-week grow and bloom chart. Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly feed chart. Tap a tag to filter.
Keep your base. Bloom’s additives sit on top of it, one at a time.
Nothing in Bloom’s range does this job, so it stays.
Keep it as it runs.
This stays for the flush. Plan Ooze and Final around it.
Same window at the flip. Pick one, or plan the stack.
All sit in mid bloom. Plan the total P and K, or pick a side.
All three sit in the back end of bloom. Decide which runs where.
Same carb job. Bud Candy adds magnesium, SWTNR adds potassium. Run one.
Both are silica, both weekly. Run one.
Kelp and humic in one bottle there, two here. Plan the total.
Same cal-mag job. Check your water and base before running either.
Amino acids, B vitamins and fulvic acid, from the cutting into flower.
A mid-veg step before Bud Ignitor takes over at the flip.
Tuna and kelp, plus trace minerals from sea water.

Timing from the grow and bloom charts on each Advanced Nutrients product page: grow weeks 1–4, bloom weeks 1–7, then flush. We put their grow weeks across Root and Veg, bloom 1–2 at the flip, 3–4 next, 5 in 5+, and 6–7 in the last two. Big Bud starts in bloom week 2, so it’s pale at the flip. All of that placing is our read. Bloom’s bars follow its weekly feed charts; pale Bloom bars are as-needed bottles.
Why each one fits
What the Bloom product does, the research behind that kind of input, and where it sits in a program that already runs.
Roots from the cutting tray
What it does. Roots is amino acids, B vitamins and fulvic acid. It works as a 1 ml/L cutting dip, then 0.5 ml/L weekly through flower, stopping in the final 1–2 weeks.
How it stacks. Voodoo Juice runs grow and bloom weeks 1–2 only, per its page, and it’s a microbe product. Roots does a different job and can sit in the weeks between (our read).
A step in mid veg
What it does. Pre goes in at 1 ml/L weekly in veg weeks 2–3. It’s a timing tool, so there’s no study cited for it here.
How it stacks. Their grow chart runs the base, B-52, Bud Candy and Sensizym through grow weeks 1–4, with no stage booster until Bud Ignitor at the flip. Pre sits in that gap (our read).
Fish, kelp and sea minerals
What it does. Seafuel is tuna and kelp at 1 ml/L weekly, clone through late flower, tapering at the flush. Sea Minerals is trace minerals from sea water at 0.13 ml/L weekly, veg to bloom.
A 2023 review of protein hydrolysates links them to nutrient uptake and assimilation, and says the mechanisms are still being worked out. Big Bud lists whey protein hydrolysate and Seafuel is a fish input, so both sides use this kind of input. The review doesn’t test any product.
How it stacks. Kelp already turns up in Bud Ignitor, B-52 and Sensi Cal Mag Xtra, so count kelp sources before adding Seafuel (our read). Sea Minerals is a tiny weekly dose.
Where the programs complement each other
Roots where Voodoo Juice isn’t
Voodoo Juice runs grow and bloom weeks 1–2. Their US list has no cutting dip. Roots goes in as a dip at 1 ml/L, then 0.5 ml/L weekly, a different job to a microbe product (our read).
Pre before the flip
Their grow chart has no stage booster until Bud Ignitor in bloom week 1. Pre at 1 ml/L weekly in veg weeks 2–3 sits in front of it, one bottle, with runoff pH logged for a week.
Seafuel and Sea Minerals on top
Neither a fish input nor sea minerals is on their list. Both are small weekly doses, and Sea Minerals is 0.13 ml/L, so they’re an easy one-at-a-time add (our read).
Already covered
- The flip. Bud Ignitor and Ultra both run in bloom weeks 1–2.
- Mid bloom. Big Bud and Hammerhead cover weeks 2–7, where Phat and PK sit.
- Late bloom. Overdrive shares the back end with Ooze and Final.
- Carbs, silica, kelp-humic and cal-mag. Bud Candy, RSA, B-52 and Sensi Cal Mag Xtra line up with SWTNR, Silica, Seaweed, Humate and Cal-Mag.
Stays exactly as is
- pH Perfect base. Your base stays. Bloom’s additives sit on top, one at a time.
- Voodoo Juice. Bloom has no microbial inoculant.
- Sensizym. Bloom has no enzyme product.
- Flawless Finish. Bloom has no flush or clearing solution.
Background, science and sources
Who Advanced Nutrients are
Advanced Nutrients started in 1999. Their About page names Michael “BigMike” Straumietis as CEO and founder, says growers in 128+ countries use the range, and mentions a Barcelona office opened in 2021 to make nutrients for the international market.
The range runs from pH Perfect liquid bases through bloom boosters, root microbes, enzymes, carbs, silica and cal-mag, plus organic and powder lines. Growers buy through authorized retailers, who buy through authorized distributors. They pitch to home, craft and commercial cannabis growers, with a commercial line and an advisory team for licensed producers. In the US, RSA has replaced Rhino Skin as their silica additive, per their announcement.

What each company brings
Advanced Nutrients: pH Perfect two- and three-part bases, bloom boosters for each part of flower, root microbes, enzymes, a carb product, silica, kelp-humic and cal-mag additives, a flushing agent, and a grow and bloom chart on each product page.
Bloom: one additive for each stage of the crop, seaweed, humic and sea mineral inputs, foliar sprays, and weekly feed charts for soil, coco and hydro. Rates and timing are on every product page.
Cropping Solutions, the other brand under Agricultural Organics, isn’t part of this report.
Dose basis: how each side counts
Advanced Nutrients print most additives at 2 mL/L, laid out week by week on a grow and bloom chart on each product page. RSA is the exception at 0.13 mL/L once a week, and Sensi Cal Mag Xtra says to repeat after one week. Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly feed chart, mostly 0.13 to 2.5 ml/L.
Their pH Perfect page says they can’t guarantee root zone pH when other makers’ products are used with it, and their FAQ says mixing brands is usually fine but some combinations don’t play well. That’s why this page suggests adding one Bloom bottle at a time.

Rates as printed on each company’s page (1 US gallon is 3.785 L). Bloom’s rates are per litre of nutrient solution, dosed weekly per its feed charts. Pick a product and your tank size.
Seaweed extractsWell supported
Ali, Ramsubhag and Jayaraman (2021) review seaweed extracts as biostimulants, covering growth, yield and tolerance to drought, salt and cold.
Why it matters here: kelp shows up in Bud Ignitor, B-52 and Sensi Cal Mag Xtra, and in Bloom’s Seaweed and Seafuel. The review backs kelp as an input, not either brand’s bottle, so check how much kelp a stack already carries (our read).
Humic and fulvic acidsWell supported
Canellas and colleagues (2015) review humic substances as biostimulants and link them to more lateral roots and to root and shoot changes tied to nutrient uptake.
Why it matters here: B-52 lists humic acid, and Bloom Humate is 10% humic acid. Running both doubles the humic in the tank, so it’s a pick-one call (our read).
Bacillus in the root zoneWell supported
Radhakrishnan, Hashem and Abd_Allah (2017) review Bacillus bacteria as plant growth promoters, including making phosphorus and nitrogen more available and helping plants cope with drought and salt.
Why it matters here: Voodoo Juice lists Bacillus-type strains, and Bloom has no microbe product, so it stays in the program.
Radhakrishnan et al. (2017), Frontiers in Physiology (review)
SiliconEmerging
Deshmukh, Ma and Bélanger (2017) say silicon is linked to stress tolerance but there’s no conclusive evidence on exactly how. Most work so far is in grasses.
Why it matters here: RSA and Bloom Silica are both weekly silica additives. One is enough (our read).
Deshmukh et al. (2017), Frontiers in Plant Science (editorial)
