CANNA and Bloom
CANNA’s US range on the left, Bloom on the right, matched on the job each bottle does and the phase it runs in. Your CANNA base and phase schedule stay put. Here’s what sits around them.
Last checked 5 November 2026 · Public information only
This Fit Report is a summary of publicly available information about CANNA and its products, taken from their own website, labels and published material as of 5 November 2026. We’ve linked each source so you can check it yourself. Rates are as printed on each company’s own pages; we don’t show prices. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by CANNA, and product names belong to their owners. Products, rates and claims change, so please confirm current details with the manufacturer before making any decision. Spotted something out of date? Email nathan@bloomyellowbottles.com and we’ll correct it.
Their phases and EC, left as written.
CANNA builds every grow around phases, Rooting through Generative IV, with base and additive doses set by feed EC in its grow schedules. Bloom’s weekly additives are small doses on top of that plan. Their US list has no humic, sea-mineral or silica product, and no foliar feed, so those are the cleanest fits.
- Stays as is: your CANNA base line, CANNA Start, CANNAZYM, media and the phase schedule.
- Both have one: a root additive, a bloom stimulator, a PK, a cal-mag and a pest spray. Run one, or test them side by side.
- Not on their US list: humic acid, sea minerals, silica, kelp, carbs and foliar sprays.

CANNA runs by phase, not week: Rooting, Vegetative I and II, then Generative I to IV, per its US grow schedules. Laying those phases on these stages one to one is our read. CANNABOOST starts 1–3 weeks after flower initiation, so the flip is pale. PK 13/14 sits 3–4 weeks before harvest per the coco schedule. CALMAG AGENT depends on your water, so it’s pale. Bloom’s bars follow its weekly feed charts; pale Bloom bars are as-needed bottles or tapers.
Their line, Bloom’s fit at a glance
Matched on job and CANNA’s grow phases, not NPK. CANNA prints rates per gallon and per 10 L; Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly feed chart. Tap a tag to filter.
Keep your base. Bloom’s additives sit on top of it.
Pick the CANNA line for your system and keep it.
It stays for the plug stage, until plants go into the final medium.
Both work the root side. RHIZOTONIC starts high then drops; Roots runs weekly into flower. Pick one, or plan the stack.
It stays in. CANNA doubles it on reused or older media.
One bottle across bloom on their side, four timed steps on Bloom’s. Pick one approach per room.
Same job. Their schedule puts it 3–4 weeks before harvest. One PK per room.
Same job. CANNA doses it to the water you’ve got. One cal-mag source per tank.
Both list mites and insects. CONTROL also lists mildew and botrytis. Plan one spray rotation.
Media stays as is. Bloom’s additives go in the feed water.
10% humic acid, plus trace minerals from sea water, seedling through flush.
Potassium silicate, veg through early flower, tapering in late bloom.
Southern bull kelp, a tuna and kelp tonic, and a carb input, without touching CANNA’s EC plan.
Pre in mid veg. Groigen and Florigen are sprays, lights off, so the tank stays as written.
Why each one fits
What the Bloom product does, the research behind that kind of input, and where it sits in a program that already runs.
Humic acid and sea minerals
What it does. Humate is 10% humic acid at 2.5 ml/L weekly, seedling through flush. Sea Minerals is trace minerals from sea water at 0.13 ml/L weekly, veg to bloom.
A major review links humic substances to more lateral root growth and to changes in roots tied to nutrient uptake. It covers humic substances in general, not either company’s products.
How it stacks. CANNAZYM runs every phase for the enzyme job. Humate adds a humic input next to it rather than on top of it (our read). Both are small doses against CANNA’s feed EC, so check runoff after adding.
Silica, added first
What it does. Potassium silicate at 0.33 ml/L weekly, added to the water first, veg through early flower, tapering in late bloom.
An editorial on silicon research says it helps plants with some stresses, but there’s no conclusive evidence on how, and most work is on grasses.
Deshmukh, Ma and Belanger (2017), Frontiers in Plant Science (editorial)
How it stacks. Goes into the water before the CANNA base, then mix as usual. Our read: re-check pH after, since silicate lifts it.
Kelp and tuna in the tank
What it does. Seaweed is southern bull kelp at 1 ml/L weekly, seedling through the flush. Seafuel is tuna and kelp at 1 ml/L weekly, clone through late flower, tapering at the flush.
Reviews of seaweed extracts report effects on growth, root development and stress tolerance across many crops. Work on protein hydrolysates, the group fish inputs sit in, is newer and links them to nutrient uptake. None of it tests these bottles.
Ali et al. (2021), Plants (review) · Malécange et al. (2023), Int J Mol Sci (review)
How it stacks. CANNABOOST and CANNAZYM pages both say not to mix with hydrogen peroxide products. Our read: treat any organic additive the same way, and check both labels.
Foliar sprays outside the EC plan
What it does. Groigen for seedling through veg, Florigen from the stretch to early bloom, both at 20 ml/L sprayed lights off, as needed every few days. These are timing tools, so there’s no study cited for them here.
How it stacks. CANNA sets each phase by feed EC. A spray never enters the tank, so their EC numbers stay exactly as the schedule prints them (our read).
Where the programs complement each other
The PK 13/14 week, with Ooze and Final around it
PK 13/14 is one full tank for about a week, 3–4 weeks before harvest. Bloom’s PK is an as-needed bottle, so on a CANNA program PK 13/14 can stay the one PK shot while Ooze and Final run weekly through the late weeks (our read).
CANNAZYM plus Humate
CANNA runs CANNAZYM every phase and doubles it on reused or older media. Humate brings a humic input their list doesn’t carry, at 2.5 ml/L weekly, without touching that enzyme job.
Foliar outside their EC targets
CANNA sets each phase by feed EC, and its list has no foliar feed. Groigen and Florigen go on the leaf, lights off, as needed, so the tank and their EC numbers stay as written.
Put it side by side
Where both ranges have a product for the same job, the fair answer is a test in your own room. Here’s what to watch and how to keep it fair.
Keeping it fair
- Same plants. Clones off the same mother, same cultivar, same age.
- Same room. Same light, climate, media, pot size and watering.
- Same base. Keep the base feed and EC the same on both sides.
- One change. Change only the product being tested, and write down what you see each week.
Already covered
- Base. A CANNA line for each system: COCO, COGr, TERRA, AQUA, SUBSTRA or BIOCANNA.
- Seedlings. CANNA Start until plants go into the final medium.
- Roots and enzymes. RHIZOTONIC and CANNAZYM.
- Bloom. CANNABOOST or Bio BOOST, then PK 13/14 for one tank.
- Water and pests. CALMAG AGENT for soft or RO water, CANNA CONTROL as a spray.
Stays exactly as is
- Your CANNA base and phase schedule. Bloom’s additives go in around them.
- CANNA Start. Bloom has no seedling feed.
- CANNAZYM. Bloom has no enzyme product.
- Media and Rootplugs. Bloom doesn’t sell any.
- RHIZOTONIC, CANNABOOST, PK 13/14, CALMAG AGENT, CONTROL. If they’re working in your room, keep them, or test Bloom’s next to them.
Background, science and sources
Who CANNA are
CANNA calls itself the Dutch expert. Its About page says its products sell in more than 30 countries, it runs its own lab, keeps production in its own hands, and takes about two years on average to develop a product.
The US range is base lines for coco (COCO and COGr), soil (TERRA), recirculating hydro (AQUA), run-to-waste (SUBSTRA) and organic (BIOCANNA, OMRI listed apart from Bio BOOST). Then four additives (RHIZOTONIC, CANNAZYM, CANNABOOST, PK 13/14), CANNA Start, CALMAG AGENT, CANNA CONTROL and a set of substrates. They sell through stores, with a locator listing CANNA Dealers and CANNA Preferred Dealers, and an online grow guide that builds a schedule from your line, flower time and water.

What each company brings
CANNA: A base line for each growing system, phase-based grow schedules built on feed EC, a seedling feed, root, enzyme, bloom and PK additives, a cal-mag water conditioner, a thyme oil pest and disease spray, growing media and a US dealer network.
Bloom: one additive for each stage of the crop, seaweed, humic and sea mineral inputs, foliar sprays, and weekly feed charts for soil, coco and hydro. Rates and timing are on every product page.
Cropping Solutions, the other brand under Agricultural Organics, isn’t part of this report.
Dose basis: how each side counts
CANNA prints rates per gallon and per 10 litres, and its grow schedules set base and additive doses phase by phase against feed EC. RHIZOTONIC is 40 ml/10L the first week at normal feeds, then 5 ml/10L. CANNABOOST is 20 ml/10L. PK 13/14 is 15 ml/10L, added once to a full tank and used for about a week.
Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly feed chart. So CANNA’s per-feed numbers and Bloom’s weekly numbers aren’t the same weekly amount, and the analyses differ too. The calculator shows what goes in one tank.
Mix calculator
Rates as printed on each company’s page (1 US gallon is 3.785 L). Bloom’s rates are per litre of nutrient solution, dosed weekly per its feed charts. Pick a product and your tank size.
Potassium in the plantWell supported
Hasanuzzaman and colleagues (2018) review potassium’s roles in enzyme activity, stomata, photosynthesis and carbohydrate metabolism, and in tolerance to drought, salt and heat.
Why it matters here: PK 13/14 and Bloom PK both add potassium late in bloom, so add up the total before running both in the same weeks (our read). The review covers potassium’s role, not products or timing.
