GreenPlanet Nutrients and Bloom
GreenPlanet on the left, Bloom on the right, matched on the job each bottle does. Their base programs, dry boosters and coco stay put. Their additive list is long, so this one is mostly about planning the stack.

A full feed program, a few open seats.
GreenPlanet sells complete feed programs: a base, plus kelp, humic, silica, cal, carbohydrate, PK and bloom boosters. Most of Bloom’s jobs already have a GreenPlanet bottle. What’s not on their product list is a fish tonic, a sea-mineral trace input, a mid-veg or flip-only bottle, and foliar sprays for the flip.
- Stays as is: Medi One, Dual Fuel, GP3, the Horti line, BackCountry Blend, pH Up and their coco.
- Both have one: kelp, humic, silica, cal-mag, carbs, PK and mid-flower bulk. Pick one, or test them.
- Not on their list: a fish and kelp tonic, sea minerals, Pre and Ultra, and foliar sprays.
Already covered
- Base feed. Medi One, Dual Fuel, GP3, the Horti line, and BackCountry Blend outdoors.
- Root zone. GPH, GPF, Root Builder, Pro Cal and Plant Guard.
- Flower. Massive, Liquid Weight, Karbo Boost, PK Spike, Bud Booster, Horti-Rawk and Rezin.
- Veg extras and media. Vitathrive, Ocean Magic, pH Up and Professional Coco.
Stays exactly as is
- Your GreenPlanet base program. Bloom’s additives go in around it.
- Root Builder. Bloom has no microbial inoculant.
- Bud Booster, Horti-Rawk and Karbo Boost. Bloom has no dry products.
- pH Up and their coco. Bloom doesn’t make pH adjusters or growing media.
Where the programs complement each other
Three jobs their list doesn’t carry
A tuna and kelp tonic, sea minerals and stage bottles for mid veg and the flip. Seafuel, Sea Minerals, Pre and Ultra go in at 0.13–1 ml/L weekly over Dual Fuel or GP3.
Foliars that don’t touch the reservoir
GreenPlanet’s programs track reservoir ppm closely. Groigen and Florigen go on the leaves at 20 ml/L as needed, so they add a job without adding ppm (our read).
One bench each on the overlaps
Six lines on the overlay sit near a Bloom bottle: kelp, humic, cal, silica, carbs, and PK with bulk. Pick the ones a grower cares about and run them on matched benches (our read).
Their line, Bloom’s fit at a glance
Matched on job, not NPK. GreenPlanet prints ml per litre with ml per gallon beside it, mostly per watering. Bloom prints ml per litre on a weekly feed chart. Tap a tag to filter.
Keep your base program. Bloom’s additives sit on top of it.
A commercial base system. It stays as it is.
Bloom has no vitamin-only or aroma-only bottle, so these stay.
Dry formats Bloom doesn’t make. Our read: count them in your PK if you also run PK.
Bloom has no microbes, pH adjusters or growing media.
Both are kelp. Bloom’s is southern bull kelp. Run one, or test them side by side.
Both put humic acid in the root zone. Humate is 10% humic acid. Pick one.
Both are calcium and magnesium. Pick one.
Both are potassium silicate, diluted first. Pick one.
Both put carbohydrates in the tank. Theirs start in flower; SWTNR adds potassium from veg week 2.
Mid-flower bulk and PK on both sides. Plan the stack and watch EC; Massive’s page says it adds 300–400 ppm.
Tuna and kelp through the cycle, plus trace minerals from sea water.
One bottle for mid veg (weeks 2–3), one for the flip (flower weeks 1–2).
Foliar sprays outside the feed line. Ocean Magic is their only foliar we found, and it’s kelp.
Why each one fits
What the Bloom product does, the research behind that kind of input, and where it sits in a program that already runs.
Tuna and kelp, plus sea minerals
What it does. Seafuel is tuna and kelp at 1 ml/L weekly, clone through late flower, tapering at the flush. Sea Minerals is trace minerals from sea water at 0.13 ml/L weekly, veg to bloom.
Work on protein hydrolysates, which fish inputs belong to, links them to nutrient uptake and stress tolerance. It’s a newer field and none of it tests these bottles or cannabis.
How it stacks. Medi One is already fish-based, so in a Medi One room Seafuel doubles up on fish (our read). It sits more naturally over Dual Fuel or GP3.
Mid veg and the flip
What it does. Pre in mid veg (weeks 2–3) and Ultra at the flip (flower weeks 1–2), 1 ml/L each, weekly. These are timing tools, so there’s no study cited for them here.
How it stacks. GreenPlanet’s additives mostly start in late veg or flower. Pre and Ultra sit in the weeks just before and after the flip (our read: check ppm when adding to a full program).
Foliar sprays for veg and the flip
What it does. Groigen and Florigen are sprayed at 20 ml/L, lights off, every few days as needed. Groigen from seedling through veg; Florigen from the stretch to early bloom, stopping once buds set.
How it stacks. They go on the leaves, so they don’t add to the reservoir ppm that GreenPlanet’s feed programs track (our read).
Kelp and humic, side by side
What it does. Seaweed is southern bull kelp at 1 ml/L weekly. Humate is 10% humic acid at 2.5 ml/L weekly. Both run seedling through flush.
Reviews of seaweed extracts report effects on growth and stress tolerance across many crops, and a major review links humic substances to root changes tied to nutrient uptake. Neither tests either brand.
Ali et al. (2021), Plants (review) · Canellas et al. (2015), Scientia Horticulturae (review)
How it stacks. Ocean Magic and GPH already do these jobs. A fair test is one bench each, same base program (our read).

Timing comes from each GreenPlanet product page. Rezin starts in the last two weeks of veg; PK Spike runs every 2 weeks from bloom week 2 until a week before flush, so it’s pale; Bud Booster stops in the last week of flower and Plant Guard 2 weeks before harvest. Where a page gives a phase, not a week, the placement is our read. Bloom’s bars follow its weekly feed charts; pale Bloom bars are as-needed bottles.
Put it side by side
Where both ranges have a product for the same job, the fair answer is a test in your own room. Here’s what to watch and how to keep it fair.
Keeping it fair
- Same plants. Clones off the same mother, same cultivar, same age.
- Same room. Same light, climate, media, pot size and watering.
- Same base. Keep the base feed and EC the same on both sides.
- One change. Change only the product being tested, and write down what you see each week.
Background, science and sources
Who GreenPlanet Nutrients are
GreenPlanet Nutrients USA sells plant nutrients it says are produced in Canada, with the company based in BC. The site credits founders Justin and Steve and says it’s supplied in more than 1,800 locations. The pages we read don’t name a parent company.
The range covers one, two and three-part base programs (Medi One, Dual Fuel, GP3), a five-part commercial Horti line, an outdoor BackCountry Blend, about a dozen liquid and dry additives, pH Up, and coco coir. Many products come in 208 L and 1000 L drums for commercial buyers, and the site has feed programs and an online nutrient calculator.

What each company brings
GreenPlanet Nutrients: One, two, three and five-part base programs, kelp, humic, fulvic, silica, cal, carbohydrate, PK and bloom additives, dry bloom powders, a Bacillus root inoculant, pH Up, coco, and an online nutrient calculator.
Bloom: one additive for each stage of the crop, seaweed, humic and sea mineral inputs, foliar sprays, and weekly feed charts for soil, coco and hydro. Rates and timing are on every product page.
Cropping Solutions, the other brand under Agricultural Organics, isn’t part of this report.
Dose basis: how each side counts
GreenPlanet prints ml per litre with ml per gallon alongside, and most of its pages say to add the product each time you water. Bloom prints ml per litre of nutrient solution, on a weekly feed chart.
So GPH at 5 ml/L every watering and Humate at 2.5 ml/L weekly aren’t the same weekly amount. The analyses differ too, so bottle volume on its own isn’t a like-for-like dose.
Mix calculator
Rates as printed on each company’s page (1 US gallon is 3.785 L). Bloom’s rates are per litre of nutrient solution, dosed weekly per its feed charts. Pick a product and your tank size.
Silicon in the plantWell supported
Luyckx and colleagues (2017) review silicon in plants: how it builds up in cell walls, and its links to tolerance of drought, salt, metals and pathogens.
Why it matters here: Plant Guard and Bloom’s Silica are both potassium silicate. The review is general plant science and doesn’t compare products.
Potassium in the plantWell supported
Hasanuzzaman and colleagues (2018) review potassium’s roles: enzyme activation, photosynthesis and tolerance to drought, salt and heat.
Why it matters here: PK Spike, Bud Booster, Horti-Rawk and Bloom’s PK all carry potassium. The review doesn’t compare products or timing.
