How to Maximize Terpene Production in the Final Weeks of Flower

Cannabis & Indoor Hydro · OOZE + PHAT

Most independent growers are running the exact same base nutrient salts as the large-scale operations down the road. Same inputs, same ceiling, right up until the finishing stretch, which is where the difference actually gets made.

Every base program gets a plant to the finish line. What happens in the closing weeks of flower, the window where growers typically change what they’re feeding instead of running one program start to finish, is where flavor and aroma get decided. That’s not a claim about any single bottle; it’s the reason a finishing regimen exists as its own category in the first place.

Bloom built OOZE and PHAT to answer that window specifically, and to do it without asking a grower to rebuild a program that’s already working.

A two-product finishing sequence, not a rip-and-replace

Both products are designed to layer directly on top of whatever base nutrient line a grower is already running: nothing to swap out, nothing to relearn on a feed chart. The two simply take over different windows of the same stretch:

  • PHAT is built for the middle of flower, the bulking window. It’s Laminaria and Lessonia seaweed with boron and molybdenum, run in flower weeks 3 and 4.
  • OOZE picks up in flower weeks 5 to 8. It’s labeled on the bottle itself as a “Flower Enhancer” and is added to the base feed, never in place of it.

Why “same bottle, different outcome” holds up

The honest version of the pitch isn’t that OOZE and PHAT are magic. It’s that most growers competing against much larger operations are working with the same base salts as those operations, and a finishing layer is one of the few places a smaller grower can genuinely differentiate without a full program overhaul. Large-scale cultivation is built around consistency across a huge footprint; adding nuance in the last few weeks doesn’t scale the way a base program does. That’s the opening for a grower willing to pay closer attention in the finishing stretch.

None of this is framed as a guarantee. No single product turns a stressed or undersized plant into something it isn’t, and Bloom doesn’t sell it that way. What OOZE and PHAT offer is a finishing layer with independently tested results behind it, applied at the two windows where finishing decisions actually get made.

The proof, not just the pitch

Bloom’s FROST trial put PHAT and OOZE to the test with independent, SC Labs PhytoFacts-tested terpene results on real cannabis flower, not an in-house claim. The full write-up is at bloomyellowbottles.us/frost.

Twenty-six years of doing this, not a trend product

OOZE and PHAT aren’t new formulations chasing a season’s hype. Bloom has been formulating and selling into the US market for 26 years, manufactured by Agricultural Organics (Aust) P/L out of Green Fields, South Australia. The finishing sequence above is the same layered approach the brand has refined that whole time.

It doesn’t care what system you’re running

Because OOZE and PHAT layer on top of an existing base program instead of replacing it, the sequence works the same way whether a grower is running run-to-waste hydro, a recirculating or DWC setup, or soil. The base program stays whatever it already is: synthetic salts, an organic soil mix, whatever’s been getting results. OOZE and PHAT sit on top of that as the finishing layer, not as a second base program competing with the first.

The timing shifts with the season and the setup, but the sequence itself doesn’t: PHAT in flower weeks 3 and 4, OOZE in weeks 5 to 8, layered on whatever program is already in the reservoir or the bed.

Where this leaves things right now

If your plants are in or heading into the flowering window, PHAT goes in weeks 3 and 4 and OOZE in weeks 5 to 8. Neither one asks you to change anything about the program that’s already getting your plants there.
